Chapter 15
A few days had passed since the marathon of movies
and reading and Roy was ready to start checking things off his list.
His mother was working at one of the city’s
hospitals and would be pulling sixteen hour shifts.
Roy sat in his room, alone in the house. On his bed
he sat staring at the boxes spread throughout the room.
That’s it! Roy
had found his training exercise. I
should of thought of this sooner, I’ll unpack.
From the middle of his room, Roy orchestrated a
dazzling show. Boxes unpacked, clothes folded and settles in the dresser, an
area rug unrolled across the floor. In a matter of minutes the room was
unpacked.
Wow! That was
amazing! Roy pulled a piece of paper, the list,
from his pocket, he slid his finger over the words, “Move shit with mind”. The
ink was pulled from the paper, he let it fall to the carpet.
Well then, one
down and a bunch left. Maybe I can check another off.
Roy raised his arms, parallel to the floor. He
closed his eyes, soon he could no longer feel the floor beneath his feet.
What he felt from the act of no longer being
confined to the Earth was enough for him to say, out loud, “Yeah! Ha, ha, ha,
take that gravity!” He then moved about the room, “Hardly mastered, but hell
credit where credit is due.” He floated to his bed. “This is too awesome.”
That night Roy did not sleep, he kept thinking of
what he might be able to do with the power he possessed. I don’t want to change the world, I just want to see Nina.
